Coming back from ACRA, the spring 2018 season has come to a close. This season has been a fantastic building year for the VCU Crew Team! The varsity men stood up to the challenge and competed in the Varsity 8 at ACRA; this is the second time VCU has ever fielded a boat in this category. In doing this, the program is being pushed to the next level and we plan to continue sending 8’s in the future. The varsity women yanked hard and all four members finished the season with sub 8 minute 2ks. With only 4 varsity women, they pushed themselves and their teammates to get better one stroke at a time. Novice men and women pressed hard and finished strong at SIRA, both competing in grand finals. Thank you to all who supported us, especially all of the crew moms and dads who took the time to bring food, cook for the team, and cheer us on. Parents donating their time to travel with us are crucial to our success on the road. An exceptionally big thank you to the Metry’s, the Bayfield’s, the Baker's, the Anhalt's, and the Johnson's. It has been a great season, and we cannot wait to train hard this summer and come out strong in the fall! HAGS
